The accommodation services 4 young people in total. Every young person has his or her own bedroom. Bathrooms are shared between two young people. All young people will have their own key. Each bedroom is fully furnished e.g. single bed, wardrobe, and chest of drawers and bedside cabinet. There are shared communal areas for cooking, a living area, and a garden. There is also a study/therapeutic room. Each bedroom is fully furnished e.g. single bed, wardrobe, and chest of drawers and bedside cabinet. Young people will be encouraged to individualize their bedroom within a set budget.

The house has CCTV in all communal areas, and this is monitored both on and off-site. This is to ensure a safe environment for both young people and staff members.
There is specific space for young people to have contact and spend time with their family and friends. This will be normal practice, unless it is considered unsafe to do so for the protection of young people within the home.

Young people will be responsible for locking their room when not in use. Any member of staff wishing to enter a young person’s room must seek permission first, unless it is deemed that not to enter will cause a danger to the individual young person or other young people within the home.

The house in Luton was specifically chosen for its ease of access to public transport, local leisure facilities and attractions. The home has had extensive adaptations to ensure that young people have a well-designed and pleasant home with ample space to meet their needs.

We are committed to ensuring that the home provides the safest environment for young people who live there. In the preparation and adaptations of the home, the planning authority, building control, fire service and the environmental health have been contacted to assist in the correct regulations being followed.
